It’s Christmas Eve and I’m finally relaxed and in a festive mood.

The other night I decided our house wasn’t Christmasy enough (well, I needed an excuse) and thought up a way to make it even more glittery and beautiful for only two pounds. I do love a bit of house DIY, and when it’s Christmas themed what could go wrong?!

Salt Dough Ornaments are made simply by mixing one cup of plain flour with one cup of salt and water. By mixing these three you create a dough, and with this you can create any ornaments you want. Place in the oven on 100 degrees Celsius for three hours and voila!

I bought some glittery gold spray paint (for only a pound) to cover the ornaments when they were done and I was left with some pretty cute decorations. I didn’t pierce any holes in mine to hang on the tree, as I didn’t feel they were good enough to hang everywhere! However they would look lovely in a bowl or as a centrepiece or even to place on wrapping paper. (Some of my decs were a little wobbly, as I am no artist, but I like to call it “shabby chic”…..)

The holidays are here!

I have felt exhausted the past week from coming home from London to my parents house, and jumping straight into more work. Because I have been so busy, I have had to squeeze in some blog-happy things to do in my (very rare) spare evenings.

This post is all about the amazingly easy fudge I made recently. So cheap, easy and quick – it is a must do for any sweet toothed person.

Perfect for nibbling on whilst watching a Christmas movie, or even as a Christmas present.

INGREDIENTS: (Only four!!)

White Chocolate (I used about three cups/3 family bars)

Dulce De Leche (I used a whole tin of Carnation Caramel as a slight substitute)

Milk Chocolate Chips (I used a small bag and a half)

Salt

METHOD:

Melt all of the white chocolate in a pan over a VERY low heat. This is so it does not burn, and melts into a smooth liquid.

Mix in the Dulce De Leche/Carnation Caramel until the mixture is smooth, a beige/caramel colour and quite thick.

Pour the mixture into a dish, I used a square dish which was about 8×8 inches and it was perfect.

Smooth the top down so it is as flat as possible, and then begin to melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a low heat.

When fully melted, pour the chocolate over the top of the fudge mixture.

Now, this is all you have to do! The rest is a waiting game – either leave it at room temperature for a few hours (although I did not try this) or put in the fridge for about 1 hour. I prefer using the fridge.

TaDa! That is all you have to do. Simple. A perfect Christmas treat. Go on, treat yourself.

It was a chilly day in London, and I was craving some street food.

That was when we hit the hustle and bustle of Borough Market, East London. Located close to The Shard, the market is full of fresh produce, fresh street food and aromatic drinks.

I have briefly mentioned Borough Market before, but it was when I first began blogging and I didn’t really go into too much depth with it.

The place is like a wonderful maze of different stalls. I’ve been here a couple of times now, and on my most recent visits I discovered places I hadn’t seen the visit before. That’s just what this market is like. Full of so many different, inviting stalls.

I’ve had chocolate brownies, cheese, giant cookies, hot mulled apple-pie-tasting drinks and hot salted beef sandwiches here. Just thinking back to it all is making my mouth water.

From sweet treats and fresh fruit to hot dishes, the list is endless. I can’t wait to go back. Even on a rainy, cold day, the place is warm with people and warming drinks.

Last weekend I walked through a wintery dream. Christmas is the perfect time to get your pals together, and as most Londoner’s (and tourists especially) know, there is no better place in the capital to get festive than Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. As a rather experienced visitor myself, here are my top things to do here…

  1. Carousel Bar
  2. Old-School Rides (waltzers, anyone?)
  3. Bavarian Village
  4. Cirque Berserk (book online beforehand)
  5. Drink: Mulled Wine and Eat: Pancakes/Waffles and German Sausages.
  6. The Ice Kingdom (book online beforehand)

We began at the good old ‘carousel bar’. My favourite. The bar is literally a moving carousel, and you have to jump up on to a circulating platform in order to grab your drinks. The drinks definitely hit you a lot harder up there…

This guy could give my nightmares though…

Grabbing a cider, we then moved onto the stalls… pancakes and waffles. So many choices when it comes to food here…

Make sure to get a little crazy and dance within the crowd in the Bavarian Village to the loud live music.

Warm up by the fires and grab some fresh food.

Market stalls are aplenty here too, of course. View arts and crafts, to christmas decs, to food, to pretty impressive blacksmith stalls.

I believe that to fully experience this place you will have to spend some money, either on food or some of the attractions. However, the best thing about this event is that you could still go and enjoy it completely FREE without buying anything. Just beware, your stomach will grumble within minutes of smelling those Nutella pancakes.

WHAT: Winter Wonderland

WHERE: Hyde Park, London

WHEN: Open now until 3rd January (best enjoyed during the build up to Christmas, ofc…)

PRICE: FREE ENTRY (Except for all food/drink and separate attractions)
